Paribu Acquires CoinMENA in $240 Million Deal to Expand Across MENA

Türkiye’s leading digital asset platform Paribu has completed the country’s largest-ever fintech acquisition with the purchase of CoinMENA, the Middle East and North Africa’s largest local crypto exchange, for $240 million. The transaction marks Türkiye’s first cross-border acquisition of a digital asset platform and reflects accelerating consolidation across the global crypto industry.

Through the acquisition, Paribu gains immediate access to the MENA region’s high-crypto-adoption markets, supported by CoinMENA’s dual regulatory licenses from Dubai’s Virtual Assets Regulatory Authority (VARA) and the Central Bank of Bahrain. This significantly expands Paribu’s regulatory footprint and positions it as one of the few multi-jurisdiction, fully regulated digital asset operators in the region.

Paribu Founder and CEO Yasin Oral described the deal as a turning point for both Türkiye’s fintech sector and the broader MENA digital asset ecosystem. He said the acquisition strengthens Paribu’s compliance-led growth strategy and expands its reach into one of the world’s most active crypto markets.

CoinMENA Co-Founders Talal Tabbaa and Dina Sam’an said the partnership will accelerate innovation across the region by combining CoinMENA’s local market expertise with Paribu’s technology infrastructure. They described the acquisition as the most transformative milestone in CoinMENA’s history and a foundation for developing a comprehensive suite of digital asset products across Türkiye and MENA.
