Zain KSA and Groq Launch High-Performance AI Platform Built in Saudi Arabia

Zain KSA has entered a strategic partnership with Groq to introduce the Groq Local AI Inference Platform, a high-performance, locally developed solution engineered to accelerate AI applications across multiple cloud environments. The platform was built entirely within Saudi Arabia and marks a significant milestone in advancing the Kingdom’s AI and digital infrastructure.

The collaboration aligns with Zain KSA’s long-term strategy to drive innovation, strengthen digital capabilities, and support Saudi Vision 2030. By embedding next-generation AI inference technology into Zain Cloud, the company aims to create a modern, intelligent, and sustainable cloud ecosystem—supporting national goals for digital localization, data sovereignty, and enterprise-grade AI adoption.

Through the partnership, Zain KSA will integrate Groq’s ultra-fast Language Processing Unit (LPU)–based inference technology, enabling developers, enterprises, and government institutions to build and scale AI solutions within Saudi borders. This enhances compliance with local data regulations while ensuring world-class speed, security, and performance.

Zain KSA executives Eng. Fahad bin Sahmi Al-Sahmah and Majed bin Hamad Al-Otaibi emphasized the company’s commitment to attracting cutting-edge technologies and tailoring them for Saudi needs. They noted that adding Groq’s capabilities to Zain Cloud positions the telecom operator as a key enabler of the Kingdom’s AI ecosystem. Zain KSA also plans to introduce AI-Solutions-as-a-Service (AIaaS)—a SaaS offering that allows customers to access advanced AI tools without major capital expenses.

Groq’s regional Managing Director, Fahad AlTurief, highlighted Saudi Arabia as one of the world’s most rapidly evolving AI markets, with strong infrastructure, bold national strategies, and growing demand for high-performance inference technologies.

With this move, Zain KSA becomes one of the first providers to offer Groq-powered AI services to government entities, reinforcing its leadership in nationwide AI adoption and cloud modernization.
