MCIT Promotes Digital Safety and Cultural Awareness at Darb Al Saai

The Ministry of Communications and Information Technology (MCIT) is participating in the Darb Al Saai events through an interactive pavilion designed to promote digital safety and responsible technology use among all age groups, with special emphasis on children and youth. The initiative reflects the ministry’s commitment to combining digital awareness with community engagement through educational yet entertaining experiences.

MCIT’s pavilion presents a holistic approach to building a digitally aware society that can keep pace with rapid technological advancement while maintaining positive values and responsible online behaviour. The ministry is delivering purposeful digital awareness content in a modern and accessible format aligned with community needs and national aspirations.

The pavilion features a variety of games and recreational activities for children, delivering simplified messages on safe internet usage. For youth, the space offers initiatives focused on digital awareness and technical skill development, including specialised workshops introducing participants to emerging technologies and encouraging the safe and responsible use of digital tools in everyday life.

Alongside MCIT’s participation, the “Qatari House” continues to attract visitors by recreating authentic aspects of Qatari life before the discovery of oil and gas. Inspired by traditional architecture, the exhibit allows visitors to explore ancestral lifestyles through spaces such as the majlis, coffee preparation areas, handicraft sections, traditional kitchens, and the central courtyard, where live demonstrations of folk arts and wood-fire cooking are held.

Abdullah Ghanim Al Maadeed, head of the Qatari House event, said the initiative aims to preserve heritage and present daily life as experienced by Qataris before the 1940s. He noted that the exhibit has become a core element of Darb Al Saai due to its strong cultural and educational value.

The Darb Al Saai programme also includes performances by the Theater Affairs Center, featuring heritage-based storytelling, puppet musicals, street theatre, and comedic shows. These performances introduce audiences, particularly children, to Qatari heritage, values, and identity through engaging artistic expression.
