Algeria is hosting the fourth African Startup Conference (ASC) in Algiers from December 6 to 8, bringing together more than 25,000 participants for Africa’s largest gathering dedicated to startups, innovation, and entrepreneurship. Held under the theme “Raising African champions” and under the patronage of President Abdelmadjid Tebboune, the event is taking place at the Abdelatif Rahal International Conference Center.
Organised by the Ministry of Knowledge Economy, Startups and Micro-Enterprises in partnership with Algeria Venture, the conference brings together over 35 ministerial delegations, around 200 exhibitors, more than 300 international experts, and over 150 investors, incubators, project leaders, diaspora entrepreneurs, and representatives of international organisations.
Rwanda has been named guest of honour, reflecting its progress in innovation and Algeria’s aim to deepen cooperation with leading African startup ecosystems. President Tebboune has described the conference as a bridge between Africa and the rest of the world, highlighting intra-African partnerships as key to building a diversified, knowledge-based economy.
The three-day programme includes ministerial-level discussions, showcases of high-impact African startups, and thematic sessions covering research, innovation, fintech, artificial intelligence, content creation, telecom infrastructure, climate resilience, and digital sustainability. Networking sessions are also enabling direct engagement between investors and project holders.
Since its launch in 2022, the African Startup Conference has positioned itself as a major platform for strengthening cross-border collaboration, supporting African entrepreneurship, and advancing the continent’s technological and economic sovereignty.
