Ooredoo Showcases Advanced 5G Standalone Network Slicing Use Cases at MWC Doha 2025

Ooredoo, Qatar’s leading telecommunications and ICT provider, demonstrated two advanced 5G Standalone (SA) network slicing use cases at MWC Doha 2025, reinforcing its leadership in next-generation connectivity and continuous network evolution. The demonstrations, delivered in collaboration with the GSMA, drew strong interest from attendees and positive feedback from industry experts and technology partners.

Building on the deployment of Qatar’s first 5G SA core network, Ooredoo highlighted how network slicing can enable ultra-reliable, low-latency applications for both enterprise and consumer use cases.

One of the key demonstrations involved a remotely controlled driverless vehicle operating in Sealine. Using a dedicated 5G SA network slice, the vehicle was controlled in real time by an operator, ensuring ultra-low latency, high bandwidth, and uninterrupted connectivity between the vehicle, sensors, and control systems. This setup enabled precise manoeuvring, instantaneous command execution, and real-time feedback, underscoring the critical role of advanced connectivity in autonomous and remote mobility scenarios.

The second use case showcased an F1 online SIM racing experience powered by 5G SA slicing. Attendees experienced lag-free, ultra-responsive gameplay that replicated real-world racing dynamics, demonstrating how enhanced network performance can unlock immersive digital entertainment and gaming experiences.

These live demonstrations reflect Ooredoo’s strategic commitment to intelligent connectivity and high-performance digital services across sectors such as mobility, automation, gaming, and emerging digital applications. As a key participant at MWC Doha 2025, Ooredoo continues to position itself as a trusted enabler of innovation, supporting Qatar National Vision 2030 and the National Digital Strategy 2030 through cutting-edge telecommunications infrastructure.
