TikTok reveals Nepal’s top searches in 2025

TikTok has released its list of the most searched terms in Nepal for 2025, offering insights into the topics, personalities, and trends that captured the country’s attention over the past year. The data highlights how TikTok Search is increasingly being used as a practical discovery tool, spanning culture, entertainment, travel, sports, and everyday decision-making.

According to TikTok, Nepalis turned to the platform not only for entertainment but also for quick information, recommendations, and real-time context. Searches ranged from major cultural festivals such as Dashain, Tihar, and Teej to music trends, travel destinations, cooking recipes, and breaking news, reflecting how the platform has become embedded in daily life.

Umais Naveed, Content Operations Lead for South Asia at TikTok, said TikTok Search has evolved into an essential part of how people in Nepal seek information. He noted that users actively rely on creators to understand trends, follow unfolding events, plan trips, learn new skills, and make informed choices, all within a culturally relevant local context.

The search trends also revealed strong interest in travel-related content, underlining TikTok’s growing influence on how Nepalis discover destinations and plan outings. At the same time, popular searches around celebrities, dramas, and viral sounds reflected the country’s cultural pulse and the moments shaping everyday conversations.

TikTok said the 2025 search trends illustrate a year defined by shared celebrations, curiosity, and creator-led discovery. The platform reaffirmed its commitment to supporting Nepal’s creative community while helping users find inspiration, information, and meaningful connections.

Among the most searched showbiz celebrities in Nepal during 2025 were Priyanka Karki, Rajesh Hamal, Swastima Khadka, Rekha Thapa, and Madan Krishna Shrestha. Top searched TikTok creators included Simpal Kharel, Ashma Bishwokarma, Rachana Rimal, Anmol KC, and Anna Sharma. Searches for sports personalities also featured prominently, reflecting continued interest in sporting moments and figures.
