The Third Arab Regional Forum on Development of Cultural Industries and Creative Economy in the Arab World was held from December 15 to 17, 2025, in Tozeur, Tunisia. The forum was organised by the Arab League Educational, Cultural and Scientific Organization (ALECSO) in collaboration with the Tunis International Center for Digital Cultural Economy under the theme “Professions of the Future and Financing Creativity in the Age of Artificial Intelligence”.

The opening session was attended by Chahine Zribi, Governor of Tozeur; Saloua Abdelkhalek, Director-General of the Tunis International Center for Digital Cultural Economy; and Rania Abed, Cultural Affairs Delegate in Tozeur, alongside representatives of regional and local authorities, and experts from across the Arab world. The forum aimed to foster dialogue and exchange expertise on developing cultural and creative industries and exploring financing mechanisms for creativity in the context of rapid digital transformation and the growing role of artificial intelligence. Discussions focused on supporting creators, cultural institutions, and startups, while enhancing investment and employment opportunities within the creative economy.

Speaking on behalf of ALECSO Director-General Dr. Mohamed Ould Amar, Dr. Ahmedou Habibi said global indicators show that cultural and creative industries are among the fastest-growing sectors worldwide. He described them as a sustainable development pathway that brings together culture, heritage, economy, and technology, positioning them as a key pillar in achieving broader development goals.

Governor Chahine Zribi highlighted the importance of hosting regional forums that strengthen the creative economy and reinforce culture as a strategic development option, particularly in light of opportunities created by digital technologies and artificial intelligence.

Through scientific sessions and specialised workshops, participants examined issues including digital transformation, protection of cultural content, creators’ rights, and the role of digital platforms in advancing cultural and creative industries. The forum concluded with a set of key recommendations aimed at strengthening the sector across the Arab region.
