Mastercard has announced two major partnerships in Saudi Arabia and Jordan, expanding its footprint across the Middle East’s fast-evolving digital payments landscape.
In Saudi Arabia, Mastercard has entered a collaboration with STC Bank to enhance cross-border money movement. By leveraging Mastercard Move, the company’s global portfolio of money transfer capabilities, STC Bank customers will be able to send fast, secure, reliable, and cost-efficient digital transfers from Saudi Arabia to 120 countries. The initiative is designed to meet growing consumer and business demand for flexible, virtual payment solutions.
Mastercard Move reaches more than 200 countries and territories and supports over 150 currencies, providing access to more than 95 percent of the world’s banked population. Through the platform, banks and non-bank financial institutions can offer end users trackable payments, fee transparency, estimated delivery times, clarity on received amounts, and multiple payout options including bank accounts, digital and mobile wallets, cards, and cash.
In Jordan, Middle East Payment Services (MEPS) has partnered with Mastercard to offer Click to Pay to e-commerce merchants through the Mastercard Gateway platform. The collaboration strengthens MEPS’s position in Jordan’s payments ecosystem and expands access to secure and efficient digital payment solutions.
Click to Pay delivers a streamlined, password-free checkout experience designed to make online payments faster, more convenient, and more secure. Integrated directly into the checkout process, it uses network recognition and EMV 3-D Secure for built-in protection, alongside Mastercard’s tokenisation technology, which replaces sensitive card data with encrypted tokens to enhance security and improve transaction approval rates.
With connectivity to over 240 acquirers and support for more than 35 payment types, Mastercard Gateway is delivered through Merchant Cloud, a next-generation payments platform. Through this partnership, MEPS will enable banks, payment service providers, money exchange houses, and fintechs to deliver secure and convenient digital and cross-border payment experiences across Jordan.
