AMMAN — The National Council for Future Technology, chaired by HRH Crown Prince Hussein, reflects Jordan’s firm belief in technology as a central driver of economic growth and improved quality of life, according to Haitham Rawajbeh, the ICT sector representative at the Jordan Chamber of Commerce (JCC).
Rawajbeh praised the Council’s achievements during its first year, noting that its initiatives across education, healthcare, and public service delivery are closely aligned with national priorities and are already delivering tangible benefits to citizens, the Jordan News Agency, Petra, reported.
He highlighted that the Crown Prince’s emphasis on the private sector’s role in advancing artificial intelligence marks a strategic shift toward innovation, development, and local production. “This approach moves beyond conventional technology use, strengthening economic competitiveness and enhancing sectoral performance,” Rawajbeh said.
Pointing to the private sector’s agility, technical depth, and innovative capacity, Rawajbeh stressed that it remains a core partner in realising the Council’s vision. This includes technology localisation, knowledge transfer, investment in digital solutions, and the development of skilled national talent capable of keeping pace with global technological change.
He also underscored the importance of expanding and refining the Council’s initiatives in response to user feedback, saying this would build public confidence in digital services and ensure lasting, measurable impact across public services and the wider economy.
Rawajbeh reaffirmed the Jordan Chamber of Commerce’s commitment to supporting the national digital transformation agenda by empowering the private sector, strengthening collaboration with government institutions, and fostering an enabling environment for technology adoption and innovation. These efforts, he said, are essential to building a sustainable, knowledge-based economy and enhancing Jordan’s long-term economic competitiveness.
