Dialog Axiata has integrated Sri Lanka’s government digital payment platform, GovPay, into its eZ Cash mobile money service, enabling citizens to pay for a wide range of government services through eZ Cash’s nationwide retail network.
The integration allows users to make payments such as traffic fines, municipal council rates, divisional secretariat fees, and charges for government universities and other state institutions at more than 55,000 eZ Cash retail outlets across the country. Payments made via GovPay are subject only to the standard GovPay service fee of LKR 15, with no additional charges.
Dialog said the nationwide rollout supports the government’s goal of making public services more inclusive and efficient, particularly by leveraging trusted local retail outlets to ensure equitable access across all regions of Sri Lanka.
Supun Weerasinghe, Director and Group CEO of Dialog Axiata, said the initiative strengthens financial inclusion and digital transformation by making government services accessible through local communities. Sri Lanka’s Deputy Minister of Digital Economy, Eranga Weeraratne, described the move as a meaningful step toward ensuring digital government services reach citizens regardless of location or access to technology.
