Pakistan to Host Indus AI Week 2026 to Showcase National Artificial Intelligence Potential

The Ministry of Information Technology and Telecommunication (MoITT) has announced Indus AI Week 2026, a nationwide initiative aligned with the Prime Minister’s Digital Pakistan vision for building a future-ready economy.

Scheduled from February 9 to February 15, 2026, the week will culminate in a flagship summit at the Jinnah Convention Centre, Islamabad, bringing together policymakers, global technology leaders, academia, startups, and investors.

Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif described the initiative as a pivotal step in Pakistan’s economic transformation, emphasizing that artificial intelligence is now essential for governance, industrial growth, and transparency across sectors such as agriculture, healthcare, and finance.

Federal Minister for IT & Telecommunication, Shaza Fatima Khawaja, noted that the focus has shifted from policy to practical adoption. She highlighted Pakistan’s annual output of over 25,000 IT graduates and invited global investors to explore the country’s growing digital ecosystem.

Indus AI Week will feature several flagship programmes, including AI for HER to promote gender inclusion, E-Sports & Gaming as a digital export sector, a Technology & Innovation Hub, AR/VR & Robotics for training and industrial use, a GovTech & DefenceTech showcase, an Industry Expo with on-spot interviews, a National AI Training Bootcamp, and Uraan AI Techathon 1.0.

Muhammad Zohaib Khan, former Chairman of P@SHA, said the initiative reflects strong alignment between government facilitation and private-sector innovation, positioning Pakistan not just as a service destination but as a hub for Generative AI and Deep Tech R&D.
