Ooredoo Fintech expands money transfer options in Qatar through partnership with Western Union

Ooredoo Fintech has announced a strategic partnership with Western Union, integrating the global money transfer service into the Ooredoo Money app, starting in Qatar with plans for regional expansion.

The integration gives Ooredoo Money customers in Qatar additional options to send and receive funds globally, combining Western Union’s international reach with Ooredoo’s trusted digital wallet platform.

Aziz Fakhroo, Chairman of Ooredoo Fintech, said the partnership enhances customer choice, convenience, and access to essential financial services, reinforcing the company’s focus on digital financial inclusion across its markets.

Giovanni Angelini, President for Europe, Middle East, Africa, and Asia-Pacific at Western Union, noted that the collaboration enables Ooredoo customers to connect with families worldwide through reliable and fast cross-border financial services.

The service is now live in Qatar via the Ooredoo Money app on iOS and Android, with further rollout planned across other Ooredoo Fintech markets in the region.

Ooredoo Financial Technology International is a wholly owned subsidiary of Ooredoo Group, focused on building a regulated and accessible fintech ecosystem across MENA.
