Octane launches O-Tolls, Egypt’s first digital toll and truck-weighing payment solution

Octane, Egypt’s vehicle expense digital payments platform, has launched O-Tolls in partnership with the National Company for Roads Building and Development, becoming the first company in the country to digitise toll gate and truck-weighing payments nationwide using NFC technology.

The service allows logistics operators and fleet companies to pass through more than 500 toll gates and weighing stations without cash or paper-based settlements. Payments are processed instantly and securely, while companies gain real-time visibility into toll transactions for better financial control and planning.

Toll fees account for an estimated 10–15% of operating expenses for logistics and distribution firms, making the digitisation of this cost category strategically important. O-Tolls reduces stoppage time for drivers, limits operational delays, and minimises risks related to cash handling, fraud, and revenue leakage.

Octane says more than 100 companies joined the platform within the first month of launch, reflecting strong demand for technology-driven fleet management solutions.

Founded to digitise vehicle-related spending, Octane already operates an integrated ecosystem that includes digital fuel payments, O-Store for fleet supplies, O-Care linking vehicles to over 300 service centres, and Mint, an AI-powered maintenance app. With O-Tolls, the company now covers all major fleet cost components in a single digital environment.
