Technology investment group T964 and Nokia have announced a strategic partnership aimed at modernising Iraq’s telecommunications and digital infrastructure, with the agreement unveiled during Capacity Middle East. The collaboration focuses on deploying advanced connectivity solutions to support the country’s ongoing digital transformation.
The partnership includes the development of enterprise networks, data centres, international transit connectivity, and fibre-to-the-home (FTTH) infrastructure. By combining Nokia’s network technology expertise with T964’s local operational capabilities, the initiative aims to build scalable, secure, and resilient digital infrastructure capable of supporting growing demand for cloud services, e-government platforms, digital banking, and enterprise digitisation.
A key element of the collaboration is strengthening Iraq’s position as a regional data corridor through enhancements to World Link, T964’s international connectivity platform. The initiative seeks to optimise cross-border fibre transit, improve redundancy, and reduce outage risks, leveraging Iraq’s strategic location between the Gulf, Turkey, and Europe to attract international carriers and enterprise traffic.
The expansion of T964’s FiberX FTTH platform also forms a central pillar of the project, with improved broadband access expected to support education, remote work, and digital commerce while helping bridge the country’s digital divide.
Although financial details were not disclosed, the agreement reflects a broader infrastructure development effort aimed at enabling sustainable digital growth and strengthening Iraq’s competitiveness in an increasingly digital global economy.
