du Pay, the digital financial services arm of du, has announced a collaboration with Esewa Money Transfer to introduce targeted campaigns aimed at improving wallet-to-wallet remittance services for the Nepalese community in the UAE. The partnership focuses on enhancing the value and convenience of digital money transfers between the UAE and Nepal.
Under the agreement, du Pay users can send funds directly to eSewa wallets using the du Pay app by registering with their mobile number and Emirates ID. While the transfer service was already available through du Pay’s remittance network, the collaboration introduces promotional campaigns offering incentives for both senders and recipients, encouraging wider adoption of digital remittance channels.
The initiative targets the large Nepalese expatriate community in the UAE, estimated at over 450,000 residents. Wallet-to-wallet transfers allow users to send money instantly without visiting banks or exchange houses, enabling recipients in Nepal to use funds immediately for utility payments, mobile recharges, online purchases, or transfers to bank accounts.
The partnership also includes promotional rewards such as daily prize draws and additional data benefits for users making international transfers, designed to encourage digital financial adoption and improve user engagement. Both companies aim to strengthen financial inclusion by making remittance services faster, more accessible, and cost-effective.
The collaboration reflects growing momentum in fintech-driven remittance services across the region, as telecom-backed digital wallets and payment platforms continue to expand cross-border financial services for expatriate communities.
