ALGIERS, 16 February 2026: Algérie Télécom has announced a nationwide program to expand and modernize its digital infrastructure through the deployment of 345 new 4G-LTE base stations across 44 wilayas. The initiative forms part of the operator’s broader efforts to improve connectivity quality, expand coverage, and support Algeria’s ongoing digital transformation.
The rollout will be implemented in phases, with the first phase running until March and involving the installation of 195 base stations. The deployment focuses on extending 4G coverage in remote and underserved areas while also strengthening network performance in densely populated regions to improve internet speeds and connection stability.
Equipped with updated technologies, the new infrastructure is intended to address increasing demand for digital services among residential and business users. The operator stated that priority is being given to areas with the highest communication needs, ensuring more efficient network performance and improved service reliability across the country.
A second phase of the program is planned to include at least 150 additional base stations, further supporting the goal of achieving more uniform nationwide coverage. The initiative reflects Algérie Télécom’s continued investment in strengthening national connectivity infrastructure and enabling broader access to digital services.
Through the expansion, Algérie Télécom aims to contribute to economic development, innovation, and digital inclusion by providing reliable communication services that support businesses, public services, and citizens across Algeria.
