Digital Umrah guide enhances pilgrim experience

JEDDAH: The Ministry of Hajj and Umrah has launched the “Umrah and Ziyarah Guide” in 16 languages to provide pilgrims with comprehensive guidance and regulatory information in their native languages.

According to the Saudi Press Agency, the initiative is designed to raise awareness and enable pilgrims to perform their rituals with ease and peace of mind.

The digital guide serves as an interactive reference covering every stage of the Umrah and visitation journey. It begins with pre-travel preparations and visa procedures, continues through the performance of rituals and navigation within the Two Holy Mosques, and concludes with departure formalities.

Structured in chronological order, the guide allows users to quickly access stage-specific information. It also features visuals and digital links to maps, instructional videos, and related services to enhance usability and clarity.

Key topics include ihram, tawaf, and sa’i, as well as etiquette within the Grand Mosque in Makkah and the Prophet’s Mosque in Madinah. The guide also outlines essential services available at both mosques, alongside organizational and behavioral guidelines aimed at ensuring smooth operations.

The ministry stated that the launch forms part of its ongoing efforts to enhance the overall pilgrim experience, strengthen procedural awareness, and advance digital transformation to improve service quality and facilitate the Umrah journey. The guide is accessible via haj.gov.sa/Guides.
