Huawei has partnered with several prominent African telecommunications operators to launch the “Northern Africa Digital Operation Transformation Pioneer Club 2.0.” Unveiled at the Operations Transformation Forum 2026 in Barcelona, this initiative is designed to fast-track the integration of artificial intelligence and 5G technology across the continent. The alliance includes senior leadership from major providers such as Algeria Telecom, Tunisie Telecom, Ethio Telecom, and Gabon Moov Money, signaling a unified regional effort to modernize mobile infrastructure and business models.
The collaboration centers on transitioning operators from traditional “traffic pipes” into “intelligent platforms” through a specialized framework focusing on entry points, business logic, operations, and infrastructure. By prioritizing AI-driven operations and “super apps,” the initiative aims to create new value streams and improve user experiences. Industry leaders emphasized that AI is no longer experimental but an operational necessity for growth, allowing providers to turn technical cost centers into profit engines while bridging the digital divide through advanced 5G-enabled services.
