Jordan’s Sanad App Update: Seamless Tax Payments and Enhanced Digital Identity Features

The Ministry of Digital Economy and Entrepreneurship in Jordan has rolled out a major update to its “Sanad” application, significantly expanding the reach of its digital governance ecosystem. This latest version introduces a suite of services designed to simplify life for both Jordanian citizens and residents, aligning with the country’s Economic Modernisation Vision.

Key additions include the ability for all users—regardless of nationality—to pay Greater Amman Municipality property taxes (musqafat) directly through the platform. Furthermore, the update caters specifically to non-Jordanians and residents by allowing them to access vehicle license details and traffic fine information. To improve user experience, vehicle data is now conveniently displayed directly on the app’s homepage for immediate viewing.

A significant technical leap in this update is the integration of electronic Know Your Customer (eKYC) technology. Users can now change their registered phone numbers or reset passwords by scanning their ID and using facial recognition, eliminating the need for physical visits to government offices. Additionally, the ministry has improved family book services and expanded the app’s availability to the Huawei AppGallery and tablet devices. As of late February 2026, over 2.38 million users have activated their digital identities, signaling a strong adoption of digital-first solutions in the Kingdom.
