Algeria’s Ministry of Knowledge Economy and Startups has launched a national open call to drive innovation in water management, in collaboration with the Ministries of Water Resources and Higher Education.
The initiative aims to mobilize startups, researchers, and entrepreneurs to develop scalable solutions addressing water security challenges, particularly those intensified by climate change. It will also create a national database of expertise and projects to support future incubation, partnerships, and pilot deployments.
Open to a broad range of participants—including SMEs, incubators, and diaspora professionals—the program focuses on key areas such as reducing water leakage, improving desalination, promoting reuse, and applying AI and IoT to water systems.
The move reflects Algeria’s push to strengthen its innovation ecosystem while advancing sustainable water management through technology-driven solutions.
