States and investors target Africa backbone as GITEX Africa nears in Morocco

GITEX Africa Morocco 2026 is shaping up as a major platform for digital infrastructure deals, with governments, telecom operators, investors, and startups focusing on data centres, cloud, cybersecurity, and AI.

The event reflects growing momentum in Africa’s digital economy, with the hyperscale data centre market projected to surge from $6.7 billion in 2025 to over $28 billion by 2030, while the AI market is expected to reach $16.5 billion by the end of the decade.

Global participation is intensifying, with Russia and France organizing national pavilions to engage African governments and businesses, targeting partnerships, investment opportunities, and institutional contracts. Morocco is also scaling its local ecosystem by selecting 300 startups to participate, strengthening its role as a regional innovation hub.

With over 55,000 expected attendees, 1,500 exhibitors, and 400+ investors, GITEX Africa continues to position itself as a key marketplace connecting policymakers, financiers, and technology leaders driving the continent’s digital transformation.
