A two-day workshop on AI-driven filmmaking has concluded in Kathmandu, highlighting the growing role of artificial intelligence in transforming the film industry.
Organised by the Film Development Board in collaboration with the Nepal AI Film Alliance (NAIFA), the event brought together over 200 film professionals to explore how AI can streamline the entire production process—from scriptwriting to final output.
Sessions covered AI applications in script development, image and video generation, sound design, editing, colour correction, and VFX. Industry leaders emphasized that while AI is making filmmaking more accessible and cost-effective, human creativity remains central to storytelling.
Due to strong interest, organisers have announced plans to extend the workshop, reflecting rising demand for AI skills within Nepal’s film ecosystem.
