Orange Jordan Sponsors Region’s First “SHEHacks” Competition to Empower Women in Cybersecurity

Orange Jordan has proudly sponsored the region’s inaugural “SHEHacks” competition, organized by Green Circle, a leading Saudi cybersecurity company. This groundbreaking initiative aims to increase women’s participation in the cybersecurity field by equipping them with skills in coding, reverse engineering, web applications, and hacking. Participants tackled real-world challenges, enhancing their ability to respond to evolving cyber threats.

Celebrating Achievements in Cybersecurity

The competition concluded with a closing ceremony under the patronage of Mr. Pier de Vries, Deputy Ambassador of the Netherlands’ Embassy in Jordan. The event celebrated the participants’ achievements and provided a dynamic environment where they solved cybersecurity challenges while enjoying an engaging and collaborative experience.

Recognizing Winners

The Pink Panthers from Amman Arab University secured first place for their exceptional performance. Tying for second place were the K3rn3L Qu33ns from Al-Zaytoonah University and the Alien$irenix team from Amman Arab University. Sharing third place were the Pink Byte team from Al-Balqa’ Applied University and the s1r3ns team from Princess Sumaya University for Technology.

A Multi-Stage Journey

The competition unfolded in several stages, starting with online training to enhance participants’ skills, followed by an introductory online competition. The winners, announced at the final event, are poised to play a significant role in strengthening Jordan’s cybersecurity sector.

This initiative reflects Orange Jordan’s commitment to empowering women in technology and fostering innovation, setting a precedent for future efforts to enhance diversity in the rapidly evolving field of cybersecurity.
