Huawei Jordan Hosts Media Forum to Drive Digital Transformation and Innovation in the Media Sector

Huawei organized the Huawei Jordan Media Forum on December 5 in Amman, bringing together senior leadership from Jordan’s leading media organizations to discuss the challenges and opportunities of digital transformation in the media sector. The forum focused on leveraging advanced technologies in networks, cloud, AI, cybersecurity, and ICT solutions to drive digital intelligence.

The forum’s initiatives align with Jordan’s Economic Modernization Vision (2023-2025) and the National Digital Transformation Strategy & Implementation Plan (2021-2025). These strategies prioritize the enhancement of digital infrastructure, the development of digital skills, the improvement of the regulatory landscape, and the advancement of e-government services.

Ammar Tobba, VP of Public Affairs & Communications at Huawei Middle East & Central Asia (ME&CA), emphasized the importance of collaboration between the public and private sectors in strengthening Jordan’s ICT ecosystem. He stressed the need for the media sector to embrace intelligent transformation and for nurturing local ICT talent to support the kingdom’s sustainable digital economy.

Huawei Jordan CEO, Adam Zhang, discussed how Jordan’s digital economy has grown rapidly, driven by a young, tech-savvy population, high internet penetration, and favorable government policies. He explained that Huawei is committed to supporting Jordan’s digital intelligence through innovative ICT solutions that empower media organizations and facilitate digital transformation.

The forum featured keynote presentations in the morning session, discussing the media industry’s digital journey, followed by three interactive workshops led by Huawei experts. These workshops covered the pain points of media organizations and developed a collaborative roadmap to address the sector’s priorities.

Mohammed Sarrif, Regional Director of Digital Industries, Strategy & Marketing Department, presented a digital strategy for media organizations, introducing technologies for intelligent office campus transformation. Local experts from Huawei and Jordan provided insights into smart office solutions, automation, energy efficiency, and AI-powered security systems.

Huawei also showcased its advanced solutions for media organizations, including smart campus solutions, Wi-Fi networks, cloud services, automation, cybersecurity solutions, and IdeaHub, all integrated with AI capabilities. Solutions like Object Storage Service (OBS), Content Delivery Network (CDN), and Video on Demand (VOD) services were highlighted, along with Huawei’s green data center technologies designed to reduce carbon footprints while maintaining high performance.

The forum underscored Huawei’s ongoing commitment to supporting Jordan’s digital economy and aligning its initiatives with the nation’s strategic goals. Huawei also reinforced its role as a responsible corporate citizen through its corporate social responsibility (CSR) initiatives, including the Huawei ICT Academy, Seeds for the Future program, and ICT Competition.

Since its entry into Jordan in 2005, Huawei has established long-term partnerships with local enterprises and contributed to ICT talent development through various programs. Huawei plans to expand its influence by establishing over 20 Huawei ICT Academies in partnership with leading Jordanian universities and training local instructors.

Huawei Jordan has supported national, regional, and global competitions, where Jordanian students have consistently excelled, with recent achievements in the Huawei ICT Competition and Seeds for the Future. These efforts demonstrate Huawei’s commitment to empowering the next generation of ICT leaders and fostering innovation in Jordan.
