The Communication and Information Technology Regulatory Authority (CITRA) in Kuwait has unveiled a new international corridor that connects Europe with the Gulf through the “Iraq route.” The initiative, developed in collaboration with Zajil Telecom, offers a complete land-based alternative to the current marine routes.
According to a statement from CITRA to KUNA, this new route is designed to ensure a faster and more efficient connection, especially since maritime services can sometimes face interruptions due to maintenance activities.
The new cable offers an impressive capacity of 100 gigabits, positioning it as a dependable solution for large corporations and global service providers. CITRA also highlighted that this development would facilitate quicker and more secure information transmission from Kuwait to Europe via the Iraq pathway.
