Dubai Centre for Artificial Intelligence (DCAI) has officially opened registrations for its ambitious ‘One Million Prompters’ initiative, designed to train one million individuals in the emerging field of AI prompt engineering. This groundbreaking initiative aims to equip participants with the necessary skills to harness the full potential of AI prompt technology and drive innovation.
Launched in May 2024 under the direction of HH Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Crown Prince of Dubai and Chairman of the Dubai Future Foundation (DFF), the ‘One Million Prompters’ initiative is part of Dubai’s broader strategy to become a global leader in AI adoption and innovation. Over the next three years, the program will provide critical AI and prompt literacy skills to one million individuals, empowering them to enhance their professional and creative capabilities through generative AI.
Aligned with the ‘Dubai Universal Blueprint for AI’, a strategic framework aimed at developing specialized talent and accelerating the adoption of AI technologies across key industries, the initiative focuses on AI prompt engineering to reinforce Dubai’s position as a global hub for technological advancement.
Saeed Al Falasi, Director of DCAI, emphasized the transformative potential of the initiative, stating: “This program offers new opportunities for individuals from diverse fields to advance AI adoption in technical, creative, and knowledge-driven sectors. Mastering AI prompt engineering enables participants to unlock innovative applications and contribute to shaping the future of AI worldwide.”
The ‘One Million Prompters’ initiative includes a comprehensive curriculum divided into four specialized modules. The first module, ‘Unleashing the Power of AI’, provides foundational knowledge of AI, generative AI, and prompt literacy. The second module, ‘Commanding Conversations with AI Chatbots’, focuses on advanced techniques for optimizing human-AI interactions. The third module, ‘AI-Powered Productivity Revolution’, explores AI tools and strategies to enhance professional workflows and productivity. The final module, ‘Creative Frontiers with Generative AI’, examines AI’s role in creative fields such as art, music, and video production. Participants who complete the curriculum will receive accredited certificates, signifying their expertise in AI prompt engineering.
The initiative builds on the success of the ‘Global Prompt Engineering Championship’, the world’s largest AI prompt engineering competition, which took place in Dubai in May 2024. The competition attracted thousands of participants from nearly 100 countries, culminating in 30 finalists from 13 nations competing in categories like Coding, Art, and Literature. Winners included Ajay Cyril from India (Coding), Megan Fowkes from Austria (Art), and Aditya Nair from India (Literature). The second edition of the championship will take place during ‘Dubai AI Week’ in April 2025.
