stc Bahrain Marks Environmental Milestone with 55,000 Trees Planted Through ‘Trees for Life’ Campaign

stc Bahrain is celebrating a significant achievement in its ongoing commitment to environmental sustainability with the success of its “Trees for Life” campaign. In 2024, the company planted 27,172 trees across Bahrain, bringing the total number of trees planted since the campaign’s launch in 2021 to over 55,000.

These efforts have helped improve green spaces in various locations, including schools, parks, main roads, and hotels, contributing to a healthier, more sustainable environment for the local community. The “Trees for Life” campaign is a reflection of stc Bahrain’s dedication to combating climate change and promoting sustainability in the Kingdom.

The campaign directly supports Bahrain’s national afforestation plan, which aims to double the country’s tree count from 1.8 million to 3.6 million by 2035, as part of the government’s vision for achieving net-zero emissions by 2060. By fostering public-private partnerships, stc Bahrain is demonstrating leadership in driving positive environmental change.

Shaikh Zeyad Al Khalifa, Chief Government Affairs Officer at stc Bahrain, expressed pride in the initiative’s impact, stating: “We are extremely proud of the impact ‘Trees for Life’ has achieved. This initiative reflects our deep commitment to environmental stewardship and the power of collaboration. By working together with our partners, we are creating a greener, healthier Bahrain for generations to come.”

Beyond planting trees, stc Bahrain is actively engaging with the community to raise environmental awareness and inspire broader participation in sustainability initiatives. Looking ahead to 2025, the company plans to plant an additional 30,000 trees as part of its continued efforts to make a lasting environmental impact.

The campaign has benefited from partnerships with a wide range of organizations, including government ministries, municipalities, private sector companies, and educational institutions. Notable partners include SADAD, Carrefour, Huawei, and the American School of Bahrain, among others.

In collaboration with the Supreme Council for Environment and the Ministry of Municipalities Affairs and Agriculture, “Trees for Life” follows a comprehensive long-term action plan. This plan focuses on increasing afforestation, reducing pollution, purifying the air, and safeguarding the community, with the ultimate goal of achieving environmental sustainability.
