NADRA to Launch New Mobile App as Pak ID Web Portal Shuts Down

Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi announced on Thursday that the National Database and Registration Authority (NADRA) will be launching a new mobile app, replacing the Pak ID web portal, which will be permanently shut down starting January 17.

The Pak ID website, which provided a range of NADRA services, will be deactivated as part of an effort to improve the security and efficiency of services for the public. Minister Naqvi explained that the decision was driven by issues faced by citizens, particularly Pakistanis living abroad, who encountered difficulties when uploading documents and fingerprints.

Naqvi also pointed out the rise of fraudulent activities involving counterfeit websites that were assisting in the creation of fake identity documents. These malicious elements were misusing citizens’ personal information, which led to the shutdown of the Pak ID website. Both the Ministry of Interior and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs have taken stringent measures against these fraudulent activities in collaboration with NADRA and other institutions.

The new mobile app has been significantly enhanced to provide a more secure and user-friendly platform for citizens to access services. The app will offer a wide range of services, including ID cards, NICOP, POC, B-forms, and FRCs, enabling citizens to complete all documentation processes from the comfort of their homes.

Additionally, Naqvi announced the establishment of three new regional centers in Azad Jammu and Kashmir, Gwadar, and Gilgit-Baltistan, which will begin operations by March 31. These new offices aim to improve communication between NADRA officials and citizens, as well as enhance service delivery in remote areas.
