Rasha Abdel Aal, Head of the Egyptian Tax Authority (ETA), highlighted the Authority’s continued efforts to improve digital services and support taxpayers, particularly during the tax filing season. She emphasized the introduction of advanced digital solutions to simplify the process of filing tax returns electronically.
Abdel Aal outlined the role of the Digital Services Center at the Treasury headquarters in Lazoghly, which is equipped with state-of-the-art technology and staffed by experts ready to assist taxpayers. The center offers various services, including tax return filing, the electronic invoice system, electronic receipts, and electronic signatures, with 30 dedicated service windows for efficient support.
The Tax Authority is committed to expanding its digital services, with plans to open additional digital centers across Egypt’s governorates, ensuring nationwide access for taxpayers. Abdel Aal also shared that the Authority is collaborating with professional syndicates, such as the Syndicate of Theatrical Professions and the Syndicate of Cinematic Professions, to provide tailored technical support to their members. These representatives offer direct assistance at syndicate headquarters to guide members through the tax return process and ensure smooth compliance.
This initiative is part of the Authority’s broader commitment to improve taxpayer experience, build trust, and foster collaboration between taxpayers and the Tax Authority, ensuring a more efficient and accessible tax filing process for all.
