Dubai-based telecom operator du has announced plans to launch its sovereign cloud and AI services in the UAE starting July 2025. According to Jasim Al Awadi, du’s Chief ICT Officer, the company intends to leverage Oracle Alloy to deliver hyperscale cloud and sovereign AI solutions, targeting government and public sector clients in Dubai and the Northern Emirates.
Despite facing strong competition from global tech giants such as Microsoft, Amazon, and Google, du aims to offer tailored, value-driven services specifically designed for the UAE market. The move aligns with the increasing global demand for sovereign cloud services, driven by regulatory requirements focused on data sovereignty and privacy.
