LG Uplus Partners with Zain Group to Expand AI Service ‘ixi-O’ into the Middle East

LG Uplus has announced a collaboration with Zain Group, the largest telecommunications provider in the Middle East, to expand its AI agent service, ‘ixi-O,’ into the region. The agreement was signed at MWC25 in Barcelona, Spain, by Lee Jae-won, head of LG Uplus’s consumer division, and Mohammed Abdulaziz AlNujaidi, CTO of Zain Group.

Zain Group, headquartered in Kuwait, operates in eight countries, including Kuwait, Saudi Arabia, Bahrain, Iraq, Jordan, Morocco, Sudan, and South Sudan. Through this agreement, LG Uplus will work with Zain Group to introduce the AI service ‘ixi-O’ in the markets where Zain Group operates. The service will offer features such as on-device AI real-time voice phishing detection, caller identification, call recording and summarization, and post-call information retrieval.

The first step in expanding ‘ixi-O’ into the Middle East will involve collaboration with Zain KSA, Saudi Arabia’s third-largest telecom provider with over 8.7 million customers. Zain KSA plans to integrate ‘ixi-O’ into its services in alignment with Saudi Arabia’s Vision 2030 and AI promotion policies.

Lee Jae-won from LG Uplus highlighted the synergies with Zain Group, aiming to leverage the strengths of ‘ixi-O’ in providing safe, AI-driven services. Mohammed Abdulaziz AlNujaidi of Zain Group emphasized the integration of AI into Zain KSA’s services to enhance the digital experience for customers in line with Saudi Arabia’s Vision 2030.
