Morocco’s Internet Connectivity Restored After Iberian Peninsula Power Outage

Internet access in Morocco began to return to normal on Tuesday following a major power outage in Spain and Portugal that disrupted international connections. Telecom provider Orange Maroc confirmed on Facebook that internet services were gradually being restored as the power was restored in Iberian countries.

The outages, which also affected mobile and internet services, as well as rail traffic in Spain, Portugal, and parts of France, had caused significant disruptions to Morocco’s internet network. The company stated on Monday that the outage had impacted the country’s internet connections.

Morocco’s airport authority ONDA confirmed that check-in and boarding systems at the country’s airports were back to normal. By early Tuesday, electricity had been restored to most areas of Spain and Portugal, although the exact cause of the blackout remained unclear.
