Huawei Unveils Advanced Cybersecurity Solutions at GISEC GLOBAL, Showcasing AI-Driven Innovations

Huawei hosted a successful media briefing at GISEC GLOBAL, the Middle East’s largest cybersecurity event, under the theme “Establishing a Unified Cybersecurity Foundation to Safeguard the Expanding Digital and Intelligent Landscape.” The session addressed key cybersecurity challenges in today’s rapidly evolving digital environment, bringing together media representatives and industry experts from the GCC.

The panel featured Huawei’s top cybersecurity professionals, including Dr. Zhu Shenggao, Vice President of AI at Huawei Cloud Middle East & Central Asia; Richard Wu, President of the Security Product Domain in the Data Communication Product Line; and Yongjian Li, President of Data Protection at Huawei. The discussion was moderated by Colm Murphy from the Huawei European Cybersecurity Center.

Huawei emphasized its comprehensive security governance system, drawing on over 30 years of experience in defending against trillions of attacks. The company showcased its “one center, seven defenses” framework, designed to evolve in real-time and offer advanced security solutions. This system integrates automated threat responses and a rapid evolution of security capabilities, positioning Huawei as a trusted partner in the digital world.

Key highlights from the briefing included the introduction of the OceanProtect E8000, a next-generation data protection system that boasts five times faster recovery performance, restoring 1TB of data in just 20 seconds. The system’s high-density capacity allows for up to 2PB/2U, reducing rack space usage by 90% compared to conventional solutions.

Dr. Zhu Shenggao also introduced Huawei Cloud’s transition from cloud-native to AI-native security systems, powered by the Pangu security model, which automates 99% of threat responses and significantly reduces detection and tracing times.

Richard Wu presented Huawei’s integrated “Endpoint-Network-Security” platform, designed to combat ransomware and enhance data recovery. Huawei’s new Xinghe Intelligent Unified SASE Solution was also introduced, addressing cybersecurity threats arising from cloud migration and hybrid working environments. This solution uses an AI Security Brain with over 8,000 built-in rules to handle 99% of alarms automatically.

Huawei’s SASE platform, certified by Tolly, also includes AI-powered firewalls and endpoint security solutions, improving detection rates by 50% over traditional antivirus solutions. The company’s intelligent security system also features SecMaster, a unified security operations center that enhances detection accuracy, accelerates investigation times, and improves attack source tracing.

Further showcasing its commitment to regional collaboration, Huawei signed a strategic partnership with Jeraisy in Saudi Arabia to deliver advanced SASE solutions tailored for the Middle East market. Richard Wu emphasized Huawei’s commitment to strengthening regional security and digital development, citing the presence of major MSPs and carriers like Saudi Telecom Company.

To ensure robust compliance and governance, Huawei Cloud introduced its Cloud Service Cybersecurity and Compliance Standard (3CS), which integrates over 16 global security standards. Huawei Cloud also holds CSA STAR Certification, validating its credibility as a globally trusted cloud provider.

As hybrid and multi-cloud adoption increases, Huawei’s SecMaster platform offers unified security operations across endpoints, edge, network, and cloud environments. The platform consolidates tools, integrates threat intelligence, and enables national-level threat hunting to meet data sovereignty and regulatory challenges.

Huawei also demonstrated its resilience against evolving threats through enhanced storage solutions. Using AI for threat detection, Huawei Storage ensures business continuity and rapid recovery, with a 99.9% reliable active-active architecture and accelerated backup solutions.
