Buraimi Governorate Achieves 100% School Connectivity with High-Speed Internet

All schools in the Governorate of Buraimi are now connected to high-speed Internet, according to the latest report from the Telecommunications Regulatory Authority (TRA). The report confirms that 100% of schools in the governorate are covered, with 15 schools connected via fiber optics and 16 via 5G technology.

In the residential sector, 85% of homes are covered by fixed broadband services via 5G, and 71% are covered by fiber optics. Additionally, 53 villages are served through satellite technology, further expanding connectivity in remote areas.

These figures were shared during a visit by Omar bin Hamdan al Ismaili, CEO of TRA, who reviewed the telecom service needs of the governorate. A TRA official highlighted a significant increase in the number of 5G stations in Buraimi, which grew from 28 in 2020 to 178 in 2024—an increase of nearly 500%. The number of 4G stations also saw substantial growth, from 143 in 2020 to 310 in 2024, marking a 117% increase.

In 2024, TRA implemented 32 projects in the governorate, including the installation of 25 new telecom towers, expansion of the fiber optic network, and the upgrade of six stations to support 5G services.
