G42, a UAE-based global technology group, has signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) with Cisco, a global leader in networking and security, to collaborate on advancing artificial intelligence (AI) innovation and infrastructure development across both public and private sectors.
The MoU was presented to His Highness Sheikh Khaled bin Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi, by Peng Xiao, Group CEO of G42, and Chuck Robbins, Chair and CEO of Cisco.
Peng Xiao commented, “This MoU with Cisco reflects our shared interest in exploring how AI infrastructure and innovation can be scaled responsibly and securely across markets. As G42 expands globally, we seek to collaborate with organizations that value open collaboration, trusted ecosystems, and long-term impact. We look forward to working together to help governments, enterprises, and communities harness AI’s full potential.”
The agreement focuses on exploring collaboration opportunities in key areas, including a joint go-to-market initiative. This initiative will leverage Cisco’s secure AI portfolio and solutions, alongside G42’s regional expertise, AI infrastructure knowledge, and global expansion, to support the growth and diffusion of AI both within and beyond the UAE.
Additionally, the two companies will collaborate to develop and deploy AI-powered cybersecurity solutions and create a reference architecture integrating Cisco’s networking, security, and infrastructure solutions for high-performance computing. This partnership aims to assist customers in building and securing AI-ready data centers while developing AI workloads efficiently.
Chuck Robbins stated, “AI is fundamentally changing our world, and to unlock its full potential, we need a strong global ecosystem. Cisco is proud to join forces with G42 to deliver cutting-edge AI and digital infrastructure solutions at scale. We are committed to supporting G42’s transformative vision for AI.”
G42’s growing influence in shaping the global AI ecosystem is driven by strategic partnerships with leading US technology companies. As the first nation to appoint a Minister of State for Artificial Intelligence and establish the Mohamed bin Zayed University of Artificial Intelligence (MBZUAI), the UAE is positioning itself as a leader in AI. This MoU supports G42’s global ambitions and aligns with the UAE’s National AI Strategy 2031, aiming to make the country a global leader in responsible AI development and deployment.
