Qualcomm to Open Advanced Engineering Center in Abu Dhabi Focused on AI and Industrial IoT

Qualcomm Technologies has announced plans to establish a cutting-edge global Engineering Center in Abu Dhabi dedicated to advancing AI, industrial IoT, and data center technologies. This new hub will be part of Qualcomm’s worldwide engineering network, working on next-generation solutions to meet rising demand for high-performance connectivity and energy-efficient computing.

The center will collaborate with local Abu Dhabi, UAE-based, and international companies to support regional strategic initiatives. It aims to enhance Qualcomm’s global capabilities by developing products and services tailored for key sectors such as energy, manufacturing, logistics, retail, and smart mobility—critical engines of economic growth.

Cristiano Amon, Qualcomm’s President and CEO, highlighted the company’s commitment to fostering innovation, cultivating local talent, and creating jobs in the region through the new engineering hub in partnership with the Abu Dhabi Investment Office and the UAE government.

Badr Al-Olama, Director General of Abu Dhabi Investment Office (ADIO), emphasized Abu Dhabi’s world-class research infrastructure and talent ecosystem as a magnet for global investors and pioneering firms like Qualcomm. The new center will drive technological breakthroughs at scale, supporting the emirate’s vision to lead future-defining industries.
