On its 22nd anniversary, Algeria Telecom signed a strategic memorandum of understanding with the National Agency for Microcredit Management (ONJAM) to accelerate national entrepreneurship and fiber optic rollout across Algeria. The collaboration leverages a network of qualified local microenterprises to advance fiber-to-the-home (FTTH) technology deployment.
Under the agreement, ONJAM will identify, propose, and finance contractors specializing in fiber optic installation, while Algeria Telecom will provide technical training and integrate them into its national fiber deployment plan. This partnership aims to enhance local technical capabilities and expedite universal access to high-speed fiber connectivity throughout the country.
This initiative aligns with Algeria’s national digital transformation strategy and promotes private sector initiative to balance technological progress with sustainable job creation and social-economic inclusion.
Together, Algeria Telecom and ONJAM reaffirm their commitment to building an inclusive, citizen-focused digital economy that supports both innovation and community development.
