Humain, Saudi Arabia’s newly launched AI infrastructure company funded by the Public Investment Fund (PIF) and headed by former Rakuten Mobile CEO Tareq Amin, is rapidly assembling a top-tier executive team drawn largely from telecom and tech sectors to spearhead its ambitious AI vision.
Key appointments include:
- George Nazi, named President of AI Applications and Solutions, brings vast experience from leadership roles at BT Group, Alcatel-Lucent (now Nokia), Google Cloud, and Saudi Company for Artificial Intelligence (SCAI). Humain lauds him for combining visionary leadership with practical execution to scale AI solutions globally.
- Dr. Khalid Alodhaibi, Executive VP of Technology, with over 30 years of experience at AT&T, IBM, and Saudi Arabia’s National Center for AI, specializes in mission-critical AI infrastructure, Arabic large language models (LLMs), and tech transformation across sectors including healthcare and defense.
- Jeff Thomas, leading Humain’s datacentre business, is a pioneer in sovereign cloud infrastructure and founder of Ark Data Centres. With four decades of expertise in secure, energy-efficient digital infrastructure, he is tasked with building the backbone for Humain’s AI-first future.
- Dr. Yaser Al-Onaizan, appointed Deputy CEO and President of Data and AI Models, previously spearheaded Saudi Arabia’s National Centre for AI’s LLM initiatives and held senior roles at Amazon, AWS, and IBM Research. He is recognized as a visionary shaping AI’s future in Saudi Arabia and beyond.
Since its May debut, Humain has outlined plans to offer an extensive portfolio of AI services, next-generation datacentres, cloud infrastructure, and advanced AI models, including one of the world’s most powerful multimodal Arabic LLMs — ALLaM. The company also aims for a global footprint, leveraging strategic partnerships with Nvidia, AMD, Qualcomm Technologies, AWS, and Cisco Systems.
