EDGE and CS Group Sign MoU to Develop Sovereign Tactical Communications System

Abu Dhabi-based EDGE, a global leader in advanced technology and defence, has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with France’s CS Group—part of the Sopra Steria Group—to jointly develop an advanced tactical communications solution. The agreement was formalized at the International Paris Airshow 2025 by EDGE’s President of Space & Cyber Technologies, Waleid Al Mesmari, and CS Group CEO Pierre Lopez.

The collaboration aims to integrate an operational command system with a tactical data network, laying the groundwork for a world-class sovereign communications solution. EDGE’s Space & Cyber Technologies Cluster will lead the initiative, aligning with the UAE’s broader strategy to bolster multi-domain digital battlespace capabilities.

This partnership reinforces EDGE’s ongoing mission to deliver innovative, ultra-secure communication systems tailored to military, government, and enterprise needs in high-demand environments. The initiative also supports EDGE’s focus on adopting Fourth Industrial Revolution (4IR) technologies to develop sovereign capabilities for both national security and global export.

Since its inception in 2019, EDGE has rapidly become a strategic player in defence and advanced technology, investing in cyber-physical systems, autonomous technologies, smart materials, and more to position the UAE as a future-ready global tech hub.
