Jumia, a leading African e-commerce platform, has inaugurated its largest integrated warehouse in Egypt, located on Cairo’s Suez Road. The facility’s opening ceremony was attended by Egypt’s Prime Minister Dr. Mostafa Madbouly, Minister of Communications and Information Technology Dr. Amr Talaat, and Cairo Governor Dr. Ibrahim Saber, highlighting the company’s commitment to enhancing logistics and service capabilities in the country.
Spanning over 27,000 square meters, the warehouse is designed as a comprehensive logistics center to improve storage and distribution efficiency, particularly targeting underserved regions such as Upper Egypt. The facility is expected to generate thousands of direct and indirect jobs across Jumia’s ecosystem in the coming years.
Prime Minister Dr. Madbouly praised Jumia’s continued success in Egypt, saying, “We welcome this move by Jumia, which reflects the trust that major global companies have in Egypt’s investment climate. We look forward to more partnerships that support the state’s goals in digital transformation, the development of logistics infrastructure, and the provision of job opportunities for Egyptian youth.”
Jumia Egypt CEO Abdellatif Olama stated, “We are proud to unveil this milestone investment, which reflects Jumia’s deep-rooted commitment to Egypt as a strategic market in our pan-African operations. This new facility not only improves how we serve millions of customers and sellers across the country, but also strengthens our support for local manufacturers, drives job creation, and advances Egypt’s digital economy. We see this warehouse as a launchpad for innovation and growth, not just in Egypt, but for the entire region.”
The new warehouse complements Jumia’s broader African infrastructure expansion, following a recent facility launch in Ivory Coast in April 2025 in partnership with the Ministry of Trade. Egypt also serves as one of Jumia’s largest tech hubs, with an expanding team of engineers developing digital and logistics solutions to support the company’s continent-wide operations.
This investment underscores Jumia’s commitment to driving growth, affordability, and economic inclusion in African e-commerce markets through innovation and expanded logistical capabilities.
