Doha – The Ministry of Education and Higher Education (MoEHE) has launched ‘Talib,’ an advanced chatbot designed to provide immediate support and intelligent responses to queries from students, parents, and the public in both Arabic and English.
During the inauguration, HE Undersecretary of the Ministry of Education and Higher Education, Dr. Ibrahim bin Saleh Al Nuaimi, emphasized Qatar’s commitment to keeping pace with digital transformation in education. He highlighted that these innovations will significantly shape the future, aligning with Qatar National Vision 2030.
At the ceremony, HE Dr. Al Nuaimi underscored the rapid adoption of AI technologies in education. He noted that AI has vast potential to streamline processes for educators, students, and the public, aiding in the development of advancement plans at all levels.
Naming the smart assistant ‘Talib’ reflects the ministry’s focus on students as the core of the educational system. This tool is part of MoEHE’s efforts to integrate AI across its systems and services.
Speaking to journalists, HE Dr. Al Nuaimi stated that MoEHE is committed to staying abreast of AI advancements as part of its digital transformation strategy. The smart assistant tool aims to provide prompt answers to queries with a 99% accuracy rate. Unanswered inquiries will be directed to the relevant ministry department, enhancing communication and efficiency.
Dr. Al Nuaimi also announced the organization of the Gulf Cybersecurity Forum 2024 in October and the expansion of professional schools in the upcoming academic year 2024-2025.
Dr. Mona Salem Al Fadhli, Director of the Information Systems Department at MoEHE, affirmed the department’s commitment to integrating cutting-edge technologies. She emphasized that the digital transformation strategy includes leveraging AI, business intelligence, and virtual reality technologies, aligning with Qatar’s Digital Transformation Strategy 2030.
Dr. Al Fadhli highlighted the gains MoEHE has achieved through upgrading digital services and implementing advanced software technologies. The launch of the AI-powered Talib on the MoEHE website marks a new era in achieving optimal goals through AI. The IT department is also exploring additional AI solutions expected to debut soon.
