Algeria’s Aid for Trade Initiative for Arab States (AfTIAS) 2.0 is accelerating the country’s digital transformation by supporting tech startups and SMEs in overcoming barriers to growth. The programme focuses on capacity-building, digital transformation, and international market access, fostering a stronger entrepreneurial ecosystem.
Working closely with Business Support Organisations like Algeria Venture and the Algerian Startup Support Fund (ASF), AfTIAS 2.0 enhances mentorship, advisory services, and funding connections. Workshops have empowered Trade Support Institutions to craft actionable digital strategies, helping businesses adapt swiftly to technological shifts.
At the enterprise level, AfTIAS 2.0 provides practical training in business models, financial planning, and market readiness through partnerships with firms such as IncubMe. The programme also boosts global exposure by enabling startups to participate in major tech events like GITEX and Viva Technology, helping them secure deals and international partnerships.
A focus on inclusivity promotes women and youth empowerment within Algeria’s tech sector. Despite ongoing challenges around institutional stability, infrastructure, and skills development, AfTIAS 2.0 continues diagnostic assessments and technical support to ensure sustainable growth.
The programme exemplifies how ICT can be a transformative economic driver, positioning Algeria to lead in the global digital economy with innovation and inclusivity at its core.
