Ooredoo Kuwait has joined forces with Ericsson to upgrade its charging system, leveraging Ericsson’s Cloud Native Infrastructure (CNIS) to enhance capabilities for the 5G era. The deployment of the latest Ericsson Charging release, including the cloud-native Charging Access Function (CAF), will enable Ooredoo Kuwait to offer advanced 5G services and unlock new business opportunities and competitive marketing strategies.
Ericsson Charging is a scalable, cloud-native solution designed for real-time convergent charging, policy control, and rapid service creation. This upgrade will allow Ooredoo Kuwait to flexibly create digital charging packages, offers, and discounts, while monetizing advanced 5G use cases and innovative services in Kuwait.
Ericsson’s Cloud Native Infrastructure supports both virtual and cloud-native 5G applications by providing container-as-a-service (CaaS) over bare metal servers without virtualization layers, simplifying architecture and improving efficiency.
Issa Haider, CTO of Ooredoo Kuwait, highlighted the upgrade as a pivotal move to better monetize 5G offerings and enhance customer experience, advancing their digital transformation journey. Petra Schirren, President of Ericsson Gulf, emphasized the partnership’s role in driving innovation and supporting Ooredoo Kuwait’s delivery of advanced solutions tailored to evolving customer needs.
