Disrupt Asia 2025, South Asia’s premier startup conference and innovation festival, will take place from September 17 to 20, 2025, marking a national movement dedicated to accelerating Sri Lanka’s digital future. Beyond a four-day event, it aims to drive innovation, attract global investment, influence long-term policy, and foster tech-driven transformation.
Sri Lanka’s burgeoning startup ecosystem, supported by government agencies, industry partners, and globally connected institutions, has gained remarkable momentum. Disrupt Asia 2025 seeks to create a fertile environment for investment, facilitate the entry of international investors and accelerators, and position Sri Lanka as a key regional innovation hub.
The conference’s global roadshow campaign has elevated Sri Lanka’s tech ecosystem in major markets. Highlights include participation at India’s Startup Mahakumbh 2025, the Global Entrepreneurship Congress in Indiana, and Singapore’s Echelon 2025, where Sri Lanka showcased its vision to entrepreneurs and investors.
AsiaBerlin’s Carl Rainer Hartlein recently visited Colombo, engaging with local innovation stakeholders to explore cross-border opportunities, supported by AsiaBerlin Ambassador Manori Unambuwe. Hartlein described Sri Lanka as a resilient, innovative nation with world-class talent and a unique role as a politically neutral connector in Asia.
Disrupt Asia 2025 will feature key government figures including President Anura Kumara Disanayake, Digital Economy Deputy Minister Eranga Weeraratne, ICTA Chairman Dr. Hans Wijesuriya, and Central Bank Governor Dr. P. Nandalal Weerasinghe. Global industry leaders such as Paytm CEO Vijay Shekhar Sharma, who will deliver the keynote address, will also participate.
The event will spotlight Sri Lanka’s startup-friendly business environment and highlight why global innovators should consider establishing ventures in the country. The Innovation Festival and startup showcases will provide emerging companies a platform to present innovations to local and international investors.
Applications for the startup showcase are open, inviting companies to engage with global investors and partners. Tickets and applications are available at www.disruptasia.today.
