Ufone 4G Extends Free Call Services to Flood-Hit Communities in KP

Ufone 4G has stepped in to support communities devastated by sudden cloudbursts and flash floods across Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP), where more than 200 lives have been lost and infrastructure severely damaged. The tragedy highlights the escalating impact of climate change on vulnerable regions.

To assist ongoing search and rescue operations, Ufone 4G has offered free minutes to users in the hardest-hit districts of Bajaur, Buner, Battagram, and Batal (Mansehra). The move is designed to help residents contact emergency services, coordinate relief efforts, and stay connected with loved ones during the crisis.

The initiative draws on lessons from the 2022 floods, when Ufone’s free call services proved instrumental in enabling rescue teams to save lives, respond to urgent medical needs, and deliver essential supplies to affected populations.

As part of the PTCL Group’s larger corporate social responsibility program, this effort underscores the importance of uninterrupted communication during climate-induced disasters and reflects a long-term commitment to enhancing national resilience in the face of growing environmental challenges.
