ISLAMABAD – The Spectrum Advisory Committee convened on Monday at the Finance Division under the chairmanship of Federal Finance and Revenue Minister Senator Muhammad Aurangzeb to discuss Pakistan’s spectrum roadmap and its role in driving digital transformation.
The meeting brought together key federal ministers, including Shaza Fatima Khawaja, Minister for Information Technology and Telecommunication, and Senator Azam Nazeer Tarar, Minister for Law and Justice, alongside GSMA’s Head of Asia Pacific Julian Gorman, senior regulators, and representatives of leading mobile operators.
Industry leaders and GSMA shared insights on how effective spectrum allocation can fuel the growth of IT and telecom services, boost exports, create jobs, and expand digital adoption across Pakistan. Senator Aurangzeb welcomed the input, stressing the need to align with global best practices and ensure timely progress on spectrum management to seize emerging opportunities.
Both Minister Shaza Fatima Khawaja and Senator Azam Nazeer Tarar reaffirmed the government’s commitment to advancing an inclusive digital economy, promising affordable, high-quality connectivity for all citizens as part of Pakistan’s broader digital agenda.
