Morocco Signs Agreement to Build National Responsible AI Platform and LLM Framework

Morocco’s Ministry of Digital Transition and Administrative Reform has signed a partnership agreement with the National Commission for the Protection of Personal Data (CNDP) to develop a national platform for responsible artificial intelligence (AI) and a framework for a Large Language Model (LLM) adapted to the country’s needs.

The agreement was formalized by Minister Delegate Amal El Fallah Seghrouchni and CNDP President Omar Seghrouchni. It focuses on creating AI systems aligned with Morocco’s linguistic and cultural identity, national legal framework, and sovereign digital infrastructure.

According to the ministry, the initiative will deliver secure, high-performing, and ethically responsible generative and conversational AI tools for citizens, businesses, and government agencies. It also underscores Morocco’s ambition to build a sovereign, ethical, and responsible AI ecosystem, strengthening the country’s position as a regional and international leader in digital innovation.
