Egypt’s ICT Minister Explores New Partnerships with Cisco, Vodafone, and iQor in U.S. Visit

New York, United States — Egypt’s Minister of Communications and Information Technology, Amr Talaat, has held high-level meetings with senior executives from Cisco, Vodafone, and iQor during his official visit to the U.S., aimed at strengthening cooperation and attracting new investments in Egypt’s ICT sector.

In discussions with Cisco Executive Vice President Francine Katsoudas, talks centered on the company’s electronics design operations, customer experience (CX) services, and collaboration with Cisco Networking Academy to build digital skills. Progress was also reviewed on the CCIE Mobile Lab hosted at Cisco’s Cairo office in partnership with the National Telecommunication Institute (NTI), which enables engineers to earn the prestigious CCIE certification without traveling abroad.

Talaat also met Vodafone Chief External and Corporate Affairs Officer Joakim Reiter to discuss network infrastructure projects, capacity-building initiatives, and ongoing collaboration with the National Academy of Information Technology for Persons with Disabilities (NAID) to expand assistive technologies that promote digital inclusion.

In a separate meeting with iQor executives, including Senior Vice President Finance Dustin Fleming and COO Martin Lehtio, talks focused on establishing a new service center in Egypt. Discussions highlighted Egypt’s position as a global offshoring hub, supported by incentives under the Digital Egypt Strategy for Offshoring Industry. iQor provided an overview of its worldwide customer experience and outsourcing operations.

The meetings were attended by ITIDA CEO Ahmed Elzaher, Assistant ICT Minister for Strategy and Implementation Sherine El-Guindy, and MCIT’s Head of International Relations Samah Aziz. Talaat’s U.S. visit continues with further engagements with American technology leaders to expand Egypt’s role as a regional and global ICT investment destination.
