New Delhi – September 30, 2025 – Airtel Business, the enterprise arm of Bharti Airtel Limited, has partnered with Swift Navigation to roll out India’s first AI/ML-powered, cloud-based location service. The new offering, called Airtel-Skylark Precise Positioning Service, aims to deliver centimetre-level accuracy—up to 100 times more precise than standard GNSS solutions.
The service leverages Airtel’s nationwide 4G/5G network combined with Swift Navigation’s precise positioning technology to support mission-critical, location-based applications. Industries including transportation, logistics, construction, utilities, and agriculture stand to benefit from the breakthrough, which enables highly accurate, scalable, and reliable deployments.
Applications range from advanced driver-assistance systems (ADAS) and fully autonomous vehicles to digital mapping, ridesharing, tolling, and emergency response. Airtel says the service can transform navigation apps, enable barrier-free and lane-level tolling, and enhance fleet management with accurate route optimisation and arrival-time predictions—even in congested urban environments.
Rail operations could also see safety and efficiency improvements via precise train positioning and control, while precision agriculture could benefit through exact positioning for automated farming equipment—optimising water, fertiliser, and pesticide use for greater yields and sustainability.
The first rollout will cover 35,000 square kilometres in the National Capital Region, including Delhi and nearby districts, later this year. Airtel plans to expand the service nationwide in phases shortly afterward.
