Kazakhstan Jumps 12 Places in Global Mobile Internet Speed Rankings

Kazakhstan has climbed 12 spots in the latest Speedtest Global Index, ranking 45th worldwide for mobile internet speeds between August and October. The improvement reflects significant gains compared to the same period last year, based on analysis of mobile and fixed broadband performance across 150 cities in 104 countries.

The country recorded an average mobile download speed of 94.54 Mbps, outperforming several advanced markets, including Japan, which placed 64th with 53.54 Mbps. In the city-level rankings, Astana and Almaty secured the 62nd and 63rd positions, with impressive average mobile speeds of 132.13 Mbps and 130.72 Mbps, respectively.

While mobile connectivity showed strong progress, Kazakhstan lagged in fixed broadband performance, ranking 89th globally with an average download speed of 82.47 Mbps. The report highlights that the fastest mobile speeds remain concentrated in the Gulf region. The UAE leads globally with 652.87 Mbps, followed by Qatar (515.23 Mbps) and Kuwait (384.40 Mbps). At the bottom of the list, Bolivia registered the world’s lowest mobile speed at 13.96 Mbps, demonstrating the sharp global divide.
